Guest of Honour - J E Hannaford
Everything you need to know
J E Hannaford is powered by coffee, dragons and whisky. She teaches biology in the real world and invents fantasy beasts to populate her own. A love of nature, biology and the ocean permeates the pages of J E Hannaford's stories and pours out of the characters who live in it. She lives with her family and a young dog who believes she is a moonhound.
J E Hannaford is the author of The Black Hind's Wake, a dystopian folklore fantasy duology which stars a rather stabby selkie, and Welsh folklore. This series was initially inspired by a panel at her first Bristol Con! Her Aulirean Gates trilogy is an Epic fantasy with a dash of Sci-fi. It opens with the SPFBO finalist, Gates of Hope, and is filled with complex world-building, inherently good people, portals, telepathic hounds and the occasional alien.
J E Hannaford also writes shorter works, including Unfamiliared, the first Two Chasm’s novella. This cosy, humorous fantasy has a sprinkling of witches, familiars and a sentient cafe.
She is well known for dressing as both a dragon and a dinosaur, but will never promise the presence of either.
